2019 Manufacturing Day

The event began with a MFG kickoff in Bloom Township’s Workman Auditorium. After the kickoff, students attended assigned industry tours where they learned more about the growing field of manufacturing in our area. Following the industry tours, students ate lunch and took guided tours of Prairie State’s Industrial Technology department and learned about educational opportunities and certifications that prepare students for career pathways in the manufacturing, construction, engineering, and transportation career pathways.

For safety reasons, students and teachers were required to wear long pants, closed toed shoes and long sleeve shirts in order to tour manufacturing facilities. Students and teachers were provided with safety equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses or hard hats as required by the facility.
