It may seem like an odd thing to say in a year like this, but I am proud of us.

The Bloom Township High School District 206 community has faced challenges like we’ve never encountered before. The global pandemic has led to a shift in how we work, how we learn, and how we live.

Still, I am proud of us.

When met with virtual learning, a completely new way to experience high school, the students of our district rose to the occasion. Each virtual school day, our students signed onto their classes and engaged with their teachers and peers despite a less-than-ideal situation. Our educators have redesigned curriculum to not just make everything virtual, but to be innovative and discover new ways to teach and connect. Our parents and guardians, who are the biggest heroes here, have worked hard to create learning environments at home while still balancing the heavy loads of running a household.

So I am proud of us.

This annual report is an acknowledgment of a difficult year. It is a snapshot—maybe even a time capsule. It is also a thank you. Thank you to our community, for rising, for understanding, and for uniting in the face of an unprecedented year. We appreciate you, and we look forward to a brighter future.
